This is Aunt Marie Pataude and I ran across her at the Missouri Mouse, she was just gazing out the window enjoying the day and welcoming people as they strolled by…
The truth, Marie was found in a pile of photos at the antique store called the Missouri Mouse on Shelby Avenue in St. Paul. Her name was hand written on the back of this picture.
How the story goes…Marie had her engagement pictures taken earlier in the morning, her mama set up all the arrangements with a professional photographer. In the afternoon she gathered with her closest friends for tea at the Missouri Mouse. She was so excited to talk about her future and share all the details of her upcoming wedding. She was to marry Mr. Jeffery and they planned to move across the river to the small hamlet called Hudson. Mr. Jeffery was educated in book keeping and had found a good paying job at the Hudson Till…

Exotic stamps from India…found in a bird watching book.

What I know; Warren, John's brother is an avid bird watcher and high end photographer. His pictures were bought by the Audubon society and published in a series of books…
Warren must have given the book series to H. Follmer, Henry in 1984, the books were first published in 1983. Uncle Henry was a very close family friend. We received these books after Henry passed away and recently discovered the India stamps tucked neatly inside the books. Funny that we hadn't discovered the stamps earlier as the books have been in our possession for many years and we have referred to them from time to time as we live in a very birdy place and often say "hey did you see that orange and black bird" let's look it up and see what type of bird it is!But the question remains…those exotic stamps, can't tell when they were post-dated, what's their story…

How interesting.. Enjoyed reading about them.
It's just me being goofy and curious about the past, I love past times and the lives before us.
